On the shores of White Rock Lake near downtown Dallas,
on the grounds of the Bath House Cultural Center, a rather
large exhibit titled "White Rock" was installed along a
designated path at the water's edge, culminating with a sort
of finale indoors that utilized all three galleries inside the
BHCC.

Guests who opted to ride horseback to view the outdoor
segment of the exhibit became a kinetic element of the
installation from the viewpoint of all spectators not on
horses. Controlled groups of a dozen or so riders departed
throughout a five hour period, Saturday, June 4, 2005, from
10:00 a.m.to 3:00 p.m. with a 1 hour lunch break for the
sake of the horses.

Twenty-three white stuccoed sculptures called architectural
flowers ( actually miniature models of typical American
suburban homes ) were installed to follow the curvature of
the shoreline. Each model home sat on top of its own
inverted replica, implying its reflection on the surface of
a calm lake.

The twenty-three houses paired with their inverse replicas
conceptually implied the pairing of twenty-three
chromosomes from each parent in the formation of a new
child. Here I was drawing a correlation to the physical
human body, a temporary home in which we live while on
this Earth. The numerical choice of twenty-three houses
is itself a referenc to the last line of Psalm 23.

Attendance was free to the public and the exhibit remained
up until July 2, 2005.
